By Car:
Although the area has been isolated for a very long time, now you can get to 'El Burro Blanco' comfortably and easily over good asphalted roads and relatively quiet motorways. In general the road conditions in Spain have improved enormously over the last ten years and in our area the difference is as if between night and day. Coming from the north you can have the quality of a motorway up to Salamanca at 75 km from 'El Burro Blanco'.
Points of reference are: Coming from the north: Salamanca city. Coming from the east: Béjar. From the south: Coria and from the west: Ciudad Rodrigo.
Miranda del Castañar lies 0.5 km off the road C512 Salamanca - Coria and 5 km off the road C515 Béjar - Ciudad Rodrigo. At both roads there are signs to the village and to the camping. In the built-up area of the village there are, apart from signs along the street, tent and arrows painted on the asphalt where you still have 700 m. to go.
Coming from north or south, the C512 is the road we recommend because it is quiet and the scenery is very special and enjoyable. In Salamanca you should look for the South-exit (Salida Sur) direction Vecinos.
By public transport:
In general the bus-connections in Spain are more frequent, faster and cheaper than those by train. Nevertheless, coming from the north as well as from Madrid, you can go to Salamanca by train and by bus. From Salamanca to Miranda there is a local bus (the line Salamanca - Coria).
By air:
Although Salamanca is said to be in the possession of an airfield you will probably go to Madrid (the nearest really international airport) by plane.
